Thrush or infection? Possible TMI

I'm 35 weeks pregnant, since around 16 weeks I've had reaccuring thrush. I have been back and forth to midwife and doctors having the cream and internal tablets.

Since yesterday, I've had what I can assume is thrush but a worse case? I'm having the usual discharge I've been getting with thrush but this time it's more yellowy and bitty?

and there's a lot of it, my pelvis hurts, my private area hurts and it's made it so sore that (TMI SORRY) my lips have bled a little bit 🤦‍♀️.

Could this be something other than thrush such as an infection?

I'm awaiting a call back from the doctor, and I've tried to contact my midwife but had no success as of yet.

It's really getting me down and it is so uncomfortable. This time has just worried me abit as the previous times I haven't been in pain as such, just a small bit of discharge. This time I'm having to change a panty liner regularly.

Thankyou in advance!

Sorry, I'm not sure whether it's thrush or not, but could you call your maternity unit and explain your symptoms? They might know what it is or ask you to come in for a check and maybe do a swab.
Sorry it's making you so uncomfortable and anxious, really hope this gets sorted for you soon!

Thanks for your reply! I went back to the doctors after finally getting through, he gave me internal treatment.. again, said he wants to send me for a diabetic blood test? (No symptoms of it, no family history and i only weigh 10 stone 🤷‍♀️) and reffered me to a consultant as he said the thrush needs to be gone before I give birth as it can cause complications during labour and birth 🙈🙈🙈

I've read thrush can be a symptom of gestational diabetes, but it's so common in pregnancy regardless! I actually posted about it yesterday too, as I have a bout of it that either keeps coming back, or hasn't fully cleared up. 🙄 Hoping to get an appointment again for it tomorrow. I hope all goes well with your glucose test. I have to go for one as a precaution, but not related to thrush.
I've never heard about it causing issues with labour and birth, so if that's true there's another thing to worry about! 😭🙈

Oh really! That's interesting. I wasn't tested with my first either for diabetes! This bout of it is 10x worse than all the others I've had, I'm swollen (TMI), large amount of discharge, the discharge is making my outside sore to the point when I go for a wee, the tissue sometimes cuts/rips my skin 🙈.

He also said if you have it during birth - there's a chance the baby can get it in their mouth 🙈 xx

@Mumsonce2016xo Oh I see, I've definitely read that it's unlikely for the baby to catch it, but if they do its easily treated. So hope that gives some reassurance 😊
It sounds so uncomfortable, did the gp say it was definitely thrush? Have you been prescribed a few days worth of the pessary and cream? My GP has done that for me, so hopefully I can get things cleared up this time! Might be worth asking for the same if your treatment doesn't help? Or asking if the obstetrics team recommend anything?
