nitrofurantoin in third trimester (36 weeks)

Hi,
my doctor has prescribed nitrofurantoin for a uti. He said it was safe to take however after a quick google it looks like the nhs say to avoid it in the third trimester. Has anyone used it at 36 weeks +? I feel so worried now

Ideally an alternative antibiotic would be used. But if there is a particular reason for nitrofurantoin (if the bacteria is resistant to other antibiotics in the lab, for example) then it would be a reasonable choice.
