I got a call a few days later to book it in. But then bubs came early anyway so nothing guaranteed haha. Best of luck.

Maybe check with your midwife. I drove myself mad stressing about when I would get my date but I did get it eventually. I think I just learnt that the nhs does work very differently to anything I’ve encountered before !

@Colourfulltrees glad to see you managed to sort this out with your consultant after your post yesterday. I'm 37 weeks today and still waiting for a date. I spoke to my consultant last week and he said the booking team are not confirming dates until 7-10 days before the scheduled date of the c section. We should receive a phone call and an email.

My last c section 3 years ago they had already booked me in by 30 weeks. This time they are saying because they're so busy it's literally 7-10 days before to avoid messing people around. Plus they aren't doing any electives on Christmas Day/Boxing day so they're had to factor that in as well.
Hopefully we get our dates soon!

No! Do you?
I thought I would have heard today, although I guess there's still time...

No I haven't either.

I've got so much I could be getting on with in the house but I'm just mentally and physically exhausted that I'm laying on the sofa 😴

If they expect to tell us 7-10 days before the scheduled date it's got to be any day now because I'm 38 weeks tomorrow.

I only got 10 days notice with mine, I was booked for 39+3. A week later they contacted me again to push the date back by a day. So I'll be 39+4. Mine was done via a text message telling me the date and time and followed up with an email with lots of information attachments. I like you was panicking I hadn't heard, but my midwife said they don't tend to schedule them until quiet close to the date due to things changing and they don't like to mess women around (can be quiet disheartening when you're given a date and it changes). If you haven't heard anything by mid week I'd maybe follow it up but I wouldn't stress. 10-7 days notice is pretty normal, some are fortunate to be told at 20 weeks etc but this isn't generally the case.

Lunamoon23 · 09/12/2024 15:08

Although I've just seen you were 36 weeks last Tuesday, so 37 weeks tomorrow. I wouldn't expect to hear until next week. 10-7 days notice is the norm and they'll be prioritising emergencies and women reaching 39+ weeks in the next week or so. My trust does it on a week by week basis. X
