am having real problems sleeping. Have tried sleeping on left hand side but so painful. Have got pillow inbetween legs, under bump and still very uncomfortable.

Is it ok for me to sleep proped up with 4 pillows (so almost sitting up) as this is the only way which gets me to sleep? Am 23 weeks.

any advice?

you sleep anyway you feel comfortable.

A more upright position may help with any heartburn as well.

Sorry, I don't know about sleeping propped up.

Are you using too many pillows? I find one between my legs and wedged under the bottom of my bump is enough. If I try and use two pillows it seems too much and I spend time faffing with them, rather than going to sleep.

I also sleep on my tummy (am 21 weeks with a big bump) with one knee bent.

Sorry I can't aswer your question.

You can sleep anyway you can get to sleep. Don't worry about it. The only thing to really avoid is lying flat on your back because your vena cava (sp?) is compressed which can cut off the blood supply to your legs and mean when you have to get up to wee you will fall over and hurt yourself.

Personally I use so many pillows it's like sleeping inside a balloon!
