37 weeks - slid/bumped down the stairs

I slid on a bit of clothing my darling DC had left on the stairs and landed on my bum before sliding down 2 or 3 stairs sort of sideways before I was able to stop myself.

The first slide and bum fall was the hardest, the rest just a shake as was fast or hard.

I've definitely jarred my back a little bit as my sciatica is playing up more than usual.

Baby moving away fine and no bleeding etc.

I'm just wondering if at this stage in pregnancy I should be checked over?

I'm not rushing out the door as baby is kicking away as normal for this time of night and I dont have access to any childcare plus hospital is about 40 minutes away.

Any midwifes able to advise, or anyone done similar?

Update - I phoned triage as my back got really achy like period pains. They were happy I stay home unless I got stomach pains or signs of waters going/bleeding. If I had landed on bump or otherwise hit bump they'd have got me to come in (even with the kids)

Hope you are okay today. Xxx

I fell over in the street at 37 weeks (didn't land on the bump) and didn't get checked because baby was moving fine. DD was born a few days later! Not sure if there's a correlation though x

@vibratosprigato well I honestly wouldn't mind baby arriving now so that's not a bad thing!

Baby is moving away just fine still. I'm. A bit bashed and my back still hurts tho so maybe a few days wait wouldn't be a bad thing lol.

Glad everything was OK!

I did this with my first at about the same stage, except it was my dog that was lying across the stairs that I slipped making sure I avoided her. Waters broke a few minutes afterwards, baby born a few hours later. He is at uni now.

I might start bumping down the stairs more frequently if it's going to hurry things along (joking...)

Now I think on it I took a tumble wearing fluffy socks with my first and they arrived perfectly fine. I guess in the moment I just panicked!
