So I have been feeling very tired all the time and I’m now 20 weeks. I even almost passed out driving on my way to work a week or so ago (another reason I wanted to ask for a blood test but at the time put it down to assumed low bp). I have also been feeling not quite myself- I can’t fully explain it- like I’ll but not ill, a bit groggy but still here, a tiny bit dizzy if I tilt my head but only on odd occasions.
In my previous pregnancy I was tired by week 9 and my iron level was picked up so by 16/17 weeks I felt fairly normal. This time the midwife didn’t check my ferritin level at 9 weeks even after requesting it. So by 11 weeks the tiredness ramped up and by 19 weeks I finally asked my gp and I now have the results.
Oh I’m on asprin daily to try and prevent preeclampsia but that’s it in terms of medication. Occassional folic acid/vit d.
The standard range are in the brackets and my level is the number at start before the range.
serum ferritin 8.2ug/L [30-337]. Says <30ng/ml confirms iron deficiency
serum free T4 level 7.7 pmol/L [7.8-18]
Serum TSH level 4.59 mlU/L [0.2-4.3]
I have been looking online and saw posts about TSH should be less than 2.5-3?
Also on the FBC full blood count there are a few outside the range but only slightly, then the rest are in range.
-haematocrit 0.351 L/L [0.37-0.48]
(online indicates anemia but it’s only just below)
-Haemaglobin concentration 119g/L [120-160]
again only just below
-Eosinophil count 0.70 10*9/L [0.04-0.4]
online suggests alsorts. I do have hayfever and dog allergies, although I don’t have dogs and it’s not summer but I’m guessing it’s high due to allergies maybe.
Has anyone else had blood tests and come across any of these being out of range?
I will call the doctors in morning to enquire because I just accessed the results online.
