I had a 36 scan today and baby is not breech I was.told by midwife at last appointment cos he was breech I would be able to get sterilised however he is not breech and I have the idea in my head of c section and sterilisation as I really do not want children anymore I have had two miscarriages so far and 2 other children my first child I and baby had sepsis and other one I lost a lot of blood but I presume I will not be allowed a c section anymore. Any advice I would be grateful thanks

You can of course have an elective c section if that's what you want to do, but I personally wouldn't just choose a c section just because you want to be sterilised.
Were your other children born via c section?

No they were born naturally but I had a lot of complications from both and im am already so anxious now. They have already said I shouldn't go over due date due to low Papp-a.
Also from my miscarriages I was hospitalised.

@Colourfulltrees I think based on the previous complications and anxiety you have then you should speak with your midwife ASAP and get her to refer you to the consultant.
I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and I still don't have a date for my c section but they can book them in really quickly so I don't think it's too late for you.

I know a mum who had a c section and one of the reason was she wanted to be sterilised at the same time. 100% doable in our area.

@Colourfulltrees good luck for your appointment, if it's what you want then stick to your guns.

If you look at the NICE guidelines you can request a csect for any reason at all, can just be preference. Given your previous complications and anxiety and wish to be sterilised it should absolutely be possible. They’ll just wanted to be sure you understand the implications of both. All the best to you!

We are Yorkshire, it 100% wasn’t due to any other reason than she wanted one and to be sterilised. Hold firm about what you want and ask for a second opinion if they decline.

Thanks everyone I haven't had anyone to talk too so you have all been very helpful

The consultant offered me a c section and I signed for consent but she did not have any forms.for the sterilisation consent and said to mention it on the day and I sign then I hope thay it is OK to do that as not sure what else to do
She said from the 21st, but when do u actually get a date for a c section? Do they send a letter.
