First Trimester Weight Loss

Since falling pregnant i have lost 16 lbs due to having HG going from 216 lbs - to 200 lbs. I'm 11 weeks today.
I appreciate that I clearly have the weight to lose and it's probably nothing to worry about but wondering if anyone else has lost this much weight before the end of 1st trimester and if / when they started to gain it back.
Nausea ans sickness is still bad so I'm likely to lose more at this rate - no idea when it's time to worry

I lost in the first and half of second trimester too. It's awful. Have you had support to try to get the HG under control? Meds, HG clinic, admission for IVs? That would be the best place to start. And then find out if your hospital has a dedicated maternity dietitian who you can be linked with. They're amazing with suggestions of food choices that are tolerable with HG and just tips to manage overall. I found them way better than any doctors or midwives tbh. Then once linked they would keep a close eye on your weight and make sure you gain appropriately for pregnancy. I would be the same with having the extra weight to lose.. But you're not supposed to lose in pregnancy so don't let that stop you seeking help. I hope you get the support you need to start feeling better.

Hi OP, yes I lost in the first trimester too but now almost 23 weeks and my sickness has reduced considerably.
My appetite is back and I've started slowly gaining weight (still less than when I started but don't think that'll be for much longer).

Lost weight in first trimester, about half a stone or more. 33 weeks now and only 7lbs heavier than pre-pregnancy!

I lost around a stone in first trimester. Currently 30 weeks and have gained just over half a stone back (think I must have started to gain back at around 16 weeks when my nausea finally faded). None of my midwives have been worried and everything seems on track with the baby’s growth. So definitely try not to worry

I don’t have HG, I haven’t been sick at all, but the nausea and indigestion really puts me off eating. I’m 6 + 7 and I’ve lost 1.3kgs in the last 2 - 3 weeks. I’m just really struggling to eat anything, and when I try to eat small bits of fruit and veg my body thinks that’s too much fibre 😂💩

hopefully I’ll start to eat again in my second trimester! But it’s good to know that others have experienced similar things and put the weight back on.

Don't worry. I lost almost 9lbs and I was 120lbs pre pregnancy. I've gained it all back and then some now that I'm 22 weeks. I didn't have HG. Just nausea and serious food aversions!

It's amazing how everyone is just so different.
I'm 30 weeks now, HG stopped at 20 weeks - i lost 13kg (about 28 lbs) in total. Had my appetite back on and off over the last 10 weeks and now at 30 weeks I've gained back 5kg (11lbs) likely to be under my pre pregnancy weight at full term but midwife isn't worried
