Wishing the days away - trimester 1 symptoms

Is anyone else counting down the days? I’m 6 weeks today and the last week has been tough with the nausea. If that wasn’t enough, I’ve currently got a chest infection. I went to the doctors this morning and he said he would rather treat the nausea to allow my body the best chance at fighting the infection. I have been prescribed Cyclizine which I can see is a commonly prescribed medication. I am just hoping for some relief because it’s getting so hard to get through each day feeling like this and I suspect, the worst is yet to come during weeks 8 - 12. Any recommendations for Cyclizine? The doctor said to take one tablet around late afternoon and then one before bed and, if required, a third one on a morning. He seemed to say 2 would be best due to the drowsiness side effect. Not sure how much longer I’m going to cope at work but want to try push myself to not take time out with the symptoms.

I'm super early this time around but I can absolutely empathise with how you're feeling from my first pregnancy. I really didn't feel myself.

The symptoms came and went a bit until 11 weeks - it wasn't gradually worse, it was some days were worse than others and eventually I worked out things that helped (after trying lots!!). I kept a snack by my bed and ate something small as soon as I woke up, I love spicy food and that made it worse.. some ginger things helped for a bit.

Second trimester was great so there is light..

It's tough, it was the hardest part of my pregnancy and especially tough that it is at a time when most people don't know. I ended up telling my manager at work at 7 weeks because I thought the way it was going I'd be on the floor by 9 weeks but actually it didn't get to that.

Good luck OP, it feels tough because it is, it does get better and it's okay not to be loving this stage.
