Hi I just wanted some help to determine my conception date. My due date by 12 week scan is 1st of February 2025.
i only did the deed 2 times.
Once on 22nd of April
and once on 11th of may
this Is because it was stupidly 2 different partners.

12 week scans are pretty accurate, so it could be out by a few days (maybe 5 or 6) but I wouldn't expect it to be terribly far out.
If you are due on 1 Feb, and count back 38 weeks (to when you would have conceived) that gives May 11 as a conception date.
Sperm can only live in the reproductive tract and fertilise an egg for 5 days at the most. So it can't be 22 April, unless the scan is wildly inaccurate.

EllieRosesMammy · 24/11/2024 18:17

11th of May. No chance was it 22nd of April if you're due February and have a regular 28 day average cycle.

I'm due January 19th and we conceived on either 27th or 29th of April. So if you conceived a week before me in April you'd be due a week before me in January, but you're due after so it must be the May one.

Hope it all goes well for you! X

It has to be May, easy enough to work out

I also had a scan on June 13th that said I was 6 weeks 3 days. I just didn’t know if this was conventional age or gestational age. That’s what confused me.

Scan was done in hospital, I also had a scan on 13th of June that dated me 6 weeks 3 days x

The 12 week dating scan is the most accurate hence why it is done around this gestation, so would discount any scans you have before. As others have said, it would be the 11th May.

Thanks for replying. Was your due date by scan or Lmp? Xx

Due date from LMP was calculated to be 20th January. Scan estimates 19th of January 😁

My LMP was 14th April. I believe I ovulated on the 28th April - so the day inbetween the 2 days that we had sex, so it could literally be either day for me (husband reckons it was the 29th because he had an "instant feeling" he had got me pregnant haha) xx

Six weeks three days includes the "typical" two weeks between last menstrual period and ovulation, suggesting you conceived around mid May, probably ovulating on about the 13th. (So the 11th fits). Not end of April.

Can you remember having a period between the two? If you have exactly 2 weeks between period and ovulation, you probably would have had a period on about 29th April, then missed your period which should have begun around the end of May.

What made you go for the 6 week scan? Did you realise you had missed a period?

Glitter0 · 24/11/2024 21:13

100% 11th May

USaYwHatNow · 24/11/2024 21:14

I have the same due date as you and conceived in May.

I remember bleeding on the 26th of April but remember it being light that day, I think this was the end of my bleed x

I done a test on 25th of may and it came up positive. I have had an ectopic in the past and had my tube removed so called epu and they brang me straight in on 27th of may for an internal scan and nothing was seen, 3 days later on the 30th they brang me in again and saw the start of a gestational sac x

This confirms it was 11 May. If you'd conceived in April they absolutely would have seen a pregnancy in your uterus on 27 May.

Even if sperm survived 7 days? Xxx

They cant survive for that long, but even if they could that would mean you ovulated on 29 April, so would have been 6 weeks along by the 27 May and an embryo would have been visible. It's definitely the 11 May, OP.

Thank you for replying! I just wanted some reassurance. This is what I thought but I read people measure 2 weeks behind and it threw me off xx

As others have said, it's most certainly May conception. I conceived 22 April and due 12 January

sel2223 · 25/11/2024 06:59

Nothing is 100% foolproof except for dna but you can get a pretty good indication with dates alone. Your due date from 12 week dating scan is a lot more accurate than going by LMP

For an approx conception date, you count back 38 weeks from your official due date.

In your case it has to be the May one, 22nd April is too far off.
