Does this sound like a miscarriage or a hematoma?

Since Sunday I’ve been bleeding which ranges from light red bleeding to heavy red bleeding. I have passed some clots and some stringy blood which I assumed was a miscarriage. I had a scan on Tuesday morning which showed 2 sacs with a pregnancy in one but it was measuring 6+1 instead of 7+5 (no heartbeat yet) with a possible pocket of blood but the scan was unclear so they weren’t able to say. I am due to go back for a scan on Thursday but I’ve noticed that the past two days the bleeding has slowed when I wasn’t moving about but today I went food shopping and the bleeding has became heavier again after moving. Is that normal with a miscarriage (bleeding gets worse when moving) or could I hopeful and be having a hematoma instead of miscarriage?

Are you cramping at all?
I had a hematoma at 14 weeks, huge rush of blood with clots but then on and off same as you describe, but absolutely no cramping at all. As you're earlier on it makes sense you didn't have a huge initial hemorrhage from the hematoma coming away.

I had some period like cramps the past few days on and off but today I’m nothing. I’ve been sat down most of the night and the bleeding has reduced so I’m so confused

Mine used to get worse/heavier the more activity I did! Hopefully just a hematoma, are you able to get an earlier scan at all just for peace of mind?

I have had it get worse and better with a miscarriage depending on physical activity, but also have had the same thing in this pregnancy with cervical ectropian and baby is fine. My bleeding hasn’t been heavy but I have read of people having heavy bleeding with ectropian.

if there is 2 sacs could it be you are just miscarrying one of them?

good luck for Thursday, hope it’s good news x

Unfortunately with the baby only measuring 6+1 instead of 7+5 with no heartbeat and my periods being regular she said it was unlikely to be a viable pregnancy. The bleeding has stopped now so I definitely think it was a miscarriage unfortunately. It’s cruel because I am getting new pregnancy symptoms (getting sensitive breasts and nipples bigger) which keeps making me think it’s going to be ok,. X

I’m so sorry, are they still going to scan you on Thursday? X

Yes I it’s been confirmed as a miscarriage sadly
