Diet, well controlled gestational diabetes but feeling really unwell most days?

As the title says really. Diagnosed with GD at 30 weeks, now 36 weeks. Managed to stay diet controlled as numbers coming up fine mostly (only a few high). C section booked for 39+1 due to large baby (was really upset about this as frightened but have made peace with it now).

So my numbers are fine, consultant was happy. But every day this week I am feeling consistently unwell. No bug/cold or anything. But awful headaches, feeling very shaky and dizzy, extremely thirsty but not hungry and very very tired. Blood pressure checked and nothing in wee on Tuesday (I was worried about preeclampsia).

Has anyone else had this, is it just yet another shit part of GD? Or is it alarming to feel this way? I'm actually testing 1 and 2 hrs after food and whenever I feel particularly unwell now as I'm convinced it's linked- but numbers come up within target each time...

Was thinking to go into triage but feel a bit like a fool if it's normal...

Hi there it's a labour ward midwife. This doesn't sounds normal. Please call the maternity assessment unit to discuss. They should really invite you in for an assessment. Also, maybe ask for a 2nd opinion regarding an elective Caesarean section. In our hospital women don't get a Caesarean for gestational diabetes and a large baby alone. So do ask if you want a 2nd opinion. I still strongly suggest you call maternity assessment unit and ask to be seen for your symptoms

You know yourself and you’re worried. Go to the maternity assessment centre and get the reassurance or medical help you need
