I’m 19weeks on Sunday and I’ve still not felt any movement.
all my symptoms have gone also I had quite bad morning sickness but my first pregnancy it also stopped around 17/18 weeks.
Ive had 2 scans 11 week dating scan and 16week gender scan and baby was really active far more than baby 1 was ever on a scan.
i felt my first baby move before 17weeks and have videos of kicks visible from the outside before 19weeks.
first baby was a c section can that affect feeling kicks?
I’ve a gp appointment for Friday coming for a 20 weeks check up , should I go before then ?
is it normal I thought you felt a second baby sooner?

Where is your placenta located? I have an anterior placenta and was advised that, due to this, I may not feel movement until after 20 weeks as the placenta is positioned at the front of the uterus and can absorb some of the movements and make it harder to feel baby movin. I didn't start to feel any movement until 22 weeks but now at 31 weeks she's wriggling about all the time!
I know it's easier said than done but please try not to worry too much. I presume you have your 20 week scan soon which will hopefully put your mind at rest. All the best.

With my first my placenta was anterior (front) and I didn’t really feel movements until 22 weeks.

Now in my second I have a posterior placenta and it started around a week ago, just shy of 18 weeks.

It’s possibly the placenta is just masking any early movements.

My first I had an anterior placenta and felt nothing till 22/23 weeks. It's crazy how much the placenta can 'muffle' when it's at the front. My little one was described as a 'washing machine' and a 'whirling dervish' on the scans as she was kicking and spinning like mad yet i couldn't feel a thing!

Pregnancy one is now a very active, healthy 4 year old.

This time round (second pregnancy) I was told fairly early that the placenta was at the back so I expected movements much earlier- I was exactly 20+2 when I felt the first teeniest faintest little flutter. Now 2 weeks on and the movements are getting stronger and more regular by the day.

At no point was my doctor concerned, she said it's totally normal not to feel anything up to 24-25 weeks and every woman and every pregnancy is different. Around 20 weeks is considered average.

ETA - my awful morning sickness disappeared about the same time along with a lot of other symptoms..... and my first was a section as well. Neither of those things have any bearing on it.

I've had weird feelings OP but as it's my first pregnancy and I have no idea what to expect, I wouldn't describe them as kicks - I'm 20 weeks today

Changeofname2024 · 22/11/2024 19:07

@Livingonhope It’s doesn’t say I did check , I’m almost sure it was in it for my first pregancy tho 🥺

@anonymousxmasposter my first pregnancy I remember it feeling like if you had a gold fish in a plastic bag (like when you buy them from a pet shop i wasn’t putting fish in bags 😂)

@Changeofname2024 maybe that's it then! But it happens only once a day for a few minutes?!

Changeofname2024 · 22/11/2024 22:41

@anonymousxmasposter its very random at the start , I remember my first would always kick when I lay down for bed to start with 🙈
