Hi guys
Just wondering how did you guys go about booking your elective c-section

I told my midwife that I'd like one and she got straight on with sorting it. I was about 30weeks when I told her.

I mentioned it to my midwife at my routine 32-week appointment, she asked me to discuss it with my consultant but said she cant see me having any problems due to underlying medical issues. I'm under the care of a consultant anyway and had an appointment already booked in for next Wednesday so I will discuss with him then. I will be 34+5 at this stage and hoping he just confirms/books a date in for me there and then.

Why did your midwife think you would have problems without an underlying health condition ???? I'm sure you don't need a reason for elective ? Also Thankyou . Il mention at my next appointment. Appreciate it

Told my midwife at the first appointment both times. Got my date when I met the consultant after my 20 week scan last time and will get a date after my appointment next month at 28 weeks this time. Never had any issues, but I went in very clear with why I was asking for one and firm in my stance, and made it clear I understood the risks etc, there was no chance they were going to talk me out of it!

No I dont think theres a problem either way, but for example if it was down to birth anxiety for example they might try and refer you on to discuss options, pros and cons. All I meant is that I don't think I will be referred or questioned etc because of my condition ..

@Changeyourfuckingcar I'm 36 weeks on Tuesday and still don't have my elective c section date. It will be my third c section and I've been told I wont get told until a week before I have it. I don't understand why its so late this time, the last one I knew by 28 weeks it's so frustrating.

This is my second baby. Told my midwife I wanted one at the very first appointment and as I'm high risk and under consultant care, the consultant was informed straight away. I had a very traumatic first labour with lots of complications - none of them warranted this c section on medical grounds but my reason is listed as secondary tokophobia/PTSD.
No one has at any point questioned my reasons for wanting one so I've been lucky!

The consultant provisionally booked it when I was around 28 weeks, and I was given an exact date at 36 weeks. I'm now 38.5 weeks and my section is on Tuesday!
