I’m currently 9wks pregnant and the sickness and nausea is driving me insane. It starts about 2/3pm and peaks at about 7pm - it’s awful. Some days i’m just naseus all day, others i’m just sick all afternoon and eve. My doctor has just prescribed me the anti sickness, but told me to just take them as and when needed, but after doing some reading i think i need to take everyday 3 times a day to kick in. Taken my first one at 7am, and now started to feel abit foggy and is this normal? Obvs i still feel sick. Do i just need to persist with it?

I think you need to ring the GP and ask them. I had HG and had a bad reaction to cyclizine personally but a different reaction to what you've had. I wouldn't mess with the dosage based on reading something online though, I'd only change the dosage under medical supervision.

It is a drowsy inducing drug so feeling foggy is normal. I’ve not had it in years but I once had it by injection and slept about 20 hours.

It was years ago that I took cyclizine, so, don't remember the dosing well although think it was once daily.

Yes, foggy and nauseous is how I felt, but this was better than the vomiting. Unfortunately, it lasted for my entire pregnancies, so no reprieve, but turned off like a switch after I delivered.

Hi for cyclizine 3 tablets a day is the maximum dose, you only need to take that many if you need to. I found cyclizine didn't work and got prescribed Xonvea.

I took it for extreme sickness and it was great for me. I took it when I woke up and then tbh it usually knocked me out. I’d sleep for hours after I took it - I was so severely ill that I was off work and bed bound anyway so being asleep was better than being awake and sick so I was happy with it. I took it twice a day and because I’d taken it it made me feel confident that I wouldn’t throw up so I could venture out when not asleep or eat nutritious things.

After about two weeks the tiredness with it wore off and it didn’t knock me out at much.

Sorry i should of added and made it more clear - on the prescription she has wrote to take 3 times daily- however verbally just said to me ‘oh just take it as and when you need it’ as i was anxious about taking it so many times per day. She said it would just randomly kick in at times when i felt sick. But reading online it states otherwise and that it needs consistently to be taken to ‘kick in’ Ill just carry on 3 times per day for a few days see how i get on and maybe drop to 2 if i can. Thanks!
