Hi all

I am 19 weeks and 3 days and I have no idea if what I have felt is the baby. I can only feel the sensations in the evening and during the night. It's a strange sensation and I would say feels like a butterfly or flutters. More just like a strange feeling.

Anyway, when everyone has first movements is it usual to only feel it at night time? I don't feel anything all day and it's only as I'm going to sleep.

Thanks

Yeah that's normal. Partly because you're more still and quiet and in tune but also because they often sleep to the motion of you moving about during the day

It sounds like it could be baby!

At first it's just little flutters or bubbles, very very faint. To begin with it's only very occasional and you really have to 'tune in' to feel anything which is why it's often at night as you are lying still and quiet.
There'll be days where you feel more and days where you feel less or nothing at all at the beginning then gradually it becomes more regular and stronger.
By 26/28 weeks you should have a proper pattern established with set times and movements linked to different activities like resting, eating, drinking, walking etc

To me it felt like a goldfish gently swimming around and I could feel small ripples
