Hi all,

I've just gone through a chemical pregnancy. Ended 4 weeks + 5 days. This will be my second loss. I had one early miscarriage back in 2020 followed by a successful pregnancy in 2021 (I have a 3 year old little boy) and we've now been trying for number 2 for around 4/5 months, finally got pregnant again which has now ended in chemical. Our son was conceived 2nd cycle of trying. Definitely taking longer second time around.. I'm only 30. I do have hypothyroid and hashimotos (autoimmune disease).

Just wondering if anyone else has been through anything similar, especially with having hypothyroid and hashimotos disease.

Not sure when to start trying again and whether or not I need any fertility checks.

Thanks all xxx

Are you medicated and what is your most recent TSH level? You know you need it to be lower than usual when TTC right? I would aim for TSH <2

My most recent TSH was under 2. As we were trying, I was having blood tests every 6/8 weeks to check levels. xx

Ok good! I asked because I had chemicals before starting thyroxine but my TSH was 4.5ish (technically normal range but not for TTC).

It’s horrible to have a chemical but they do happen even without thyroid issues and 4-5 months TTC is still well within normal - your first was very quick. Try not to get disheartened, it’s hard I know.

Thank you lovely. Hard not to worry but it happens to the best of us!!! Have you had success since starting the medication?

xx
