26 weeks and exhausted

Hi all,

I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant and am exhausted. My eyes constantly feel heavy and I have big bags under my eyes. I’ve been feeling this for about a week and a half now. I’m dreading heading into work tomorrow purely down to how tired I feel already! Last weekend and this weekend, I rested lots (napped and chilled out on the sofa) but it doesn’t seem to have helped. I’m a primary school teacher so have quite an active job. I’m fairly healthy and active (dog walking regularly) but I’ve noticed I’ve really slowed down the pace when walking too because I just get so tired.

Is this just a normal part of pregnancy & I just need to crack on with it or could it be something else? Thankyou!

Hi, I think it would be worth getting checked out. Fairly active and healthy here I just checked both my preggers diaries and at 26 weeks I experienced tiredness with moderate exercising eg I could feel my blood was reluctantly trudging around my body and I was out of breath. Worst was moderate exercise and then suddenly stopping eg climbing stairs at the train station and then waiting at the platform or waiting in line in a shop after walking around town, I felt like I might pass out. I didn't experience any general tiredness as you've described I could pretty much carry on with normal day to day stuff if a bit slower.

Yea I would talk to your midwife about it. Could be low iron?
I am 26 weeks and my iron is fine my midwife said so I'm not tired.

Worth a try as pregnancy tired is horrible
