Hiya, I’m starting a new job in the nhs this week and me and my partner are wanting to ttc baby number two this month. If I was to get pregnant very soon I understand I wouldn’t be entitled to the nhs full maternity pay but would I still be entitled to statutory or maternity allowance?

Hi it depends what the NHS's policy is for occupational pay but for statutory pay you'd need to have 26 weeks continuous service 15 weeks before your expected date (week 25 of pregnancy) ... So basically likelihood is you will have the 26 weeks service to get SMP even if you conceived this month.
