Hey all.

Needing some support.

9 weeks pregnant. I've been extremely nauseous and was vommiting. Prescribed anti sickness. I have never felt so miserable in all my life. I know I'm not depressed but I just feel so miserable. I have zero motivation, just lie down all day. All I can explain it like it feeling terminally ill!! Anyone in early pregnancy feeling the same ? Anyone been through it and felt better ?

You likely have something called HG, can you keep anything down?
If not you'll be so dehydrated you'll need a trip to hospital for fluids and IV medication.

It is utterly miserable but don't be fobbed off, it's a serious condition and they absolutely can do more to help.

I'm so sorry this is your pregnancy experience. I've had some pretty horrific HG pregnancies and all I can tell you is, each one was worth it! X

It does pass and you will forget all about it xxx

It's horrendous isn't it, I've really struggled with this pregnancy and I've found the tiredness absolutely debilitating.
The sickness was awful till about 16 weeks then finally calmed down but I'm still getting some nausea (now 21 weeks).
Some women find they feel much better around 10/11 weeks when the placenta takes over so fingers crossed for you being one of the lucky ones

Nope, I'm afraid not.

I've got low BP at the moment so very low energy, tired and having dizzy spells which have led to fainting.
I've got a 4 year old and it's a constant struggle

Hrf1503 · 16/11/2024 20:16

What meds are you on? They prescribed me cyclizine and it did nothing. Now on Prochlorperazine and it’s much better! Keep going until you find the right ones. I’m still exhausted and a bit nauseous but not being sick three times a day any more. Good luck x

This is one of the reasons i hate pregnancy you take pills which take away the throwing up but your left feeling lifeless .Takes a while to get bac k on your feet

I’m 12 weeks now and starting to feel a bit better. Def go with another one, it makes me so cross they prescribe cyclizine at all I haven’t heard of it working for anyone.

fashionqueen0123 · 17/11/2024 18:25

Cyclizine is only a first line drug so if you can’t keep anything down ask for another. It makes you sleepy too.
I took odansetron which was way better. The nausea still didn’t go until I gave birth though. But it helped lessen the amount of vomiting from maybe 20 times a day to 4/5. I stopped being sick around 30 weeks so the last ten were an improvement.
