Looking for some advice and if anything experienced anything similar I’m 5w5D and currently experiencing constant back pain/ache with no let up, my abdomen feels like it’s being pulled but no spotting or bleeding - anyone experienced similar I don’t know how much discomfort is normal?

Hey I'm not sure how helpful I will be but you sound worried so didn't want to not reply.

I've had a number of pregnancies and have experienced varying discomfort in the very early stages. I actually remember calling the doctor at about 6 weeks one time because I had such intense pain but I soon realised I was linked to needing to pass wind! I think it's really common to have all sorts of weird aches and pains. I think if anything is severe or causing you a lot of concern you should get it checked - maybe call your EPU on Monday if you're still worried x

I had pain in my back and belly that sort of time. I was certain I was going to come on my period! I'm 25 weeks now so it was fine for me! I've had all sorts of cramps, pulling and tugging and back pain on and off throughout.

I am 5w6d and have had nearly constant lower back ache as well as cramp/stitch like pain on one side since I found out two weeks ago. I've had a scan at an early pregnancy unit and all was fine. I wouldn't worry unless you are in excruciating pain or bleeding.

Thankyou so much for your advice it’s such a worrying time and when it’s your first you don’t know what’s normal and what isn’t I know they say cramping is ‘normal’ but don’t know how much discomfort is normal if that makes sense xx

@Hollie257 from about 4-10 weeks it was constant. Always a horrible heavy feeling in my belly and twinges of pain - especially in my left side..I was actually checked for an ectopic because of the one sided pain but it was fine and seems common for women to get this! My back pain was also awful the whole time and still is now so that never eased for me unfortunately. The rules with epu where I am were to take 2 paracetamol and if the pain doesn't ease from them they would see you for a scan at 6-7 weeks. No point before then as baby's so small they can't see anything. General rule also for them is is there's no bleeding they probably won't see you. This is my first ever pregnancy and took 4 years to conceive so I understand your anxiety totally! It's very hard in the beginning. You're not alone! Xx

I had cramping / pulling and tugging sensations in very early pregnancy with my first and he's now a six year old boy currently Asleep in his bed! It can work out but speak to a medical professional if you're worried Flowers

Aw thankyou for replying it is really nice to hear someone has gone through similar, you read so many things about cramping and back ache etc but nobody actually says it’s can be constant!! I was thinking surely I must be miscarrying because can’t have this pain and everything be normal! I have that constant heaviness feeling in my belly and sometimes a cramp or 2 like period pain but not all the time! Back ache is worrying as I had that with my miscarriage but trying to think positive and your experience has gave me hope so thankyou xx
