Will antibiotics affect pregnancy chances?

DH is taking a course of antibiotics, erythromycin 250mg. He doesn't have an infection but taking it for his skin. He is taking one a day for 2 weeks.

I didn't think too much of it but googling shows studies where some antibiotics do affect male fertility (erythromycin is one of them) but I'm not sure if short term use will impact anything.

I am 'older' so really don't want to wait another 3 months for sperm regeneration.

My husband thinks I'm over thinking and he can continue the course.

I have already ovulated this month, my fertile window ended yesterday. DH has only taken 2 so far. Guess he can continue while my fertile window has ended but worried next month will be impacted...

Any experiences or thoughts?

I don’t know enough about that. When we were trying DH had covid and a very high temp and I read that high temp has a high chance of affecting his sperm. We still conceived the following month. So I trusted multiple studies and thought we were out for three months and it turned out we still managed to conceive and DS is now 1.5yrs old. That said it’s not medicine like antibiotics so I don’t know.

What's the issue with his skin ie is it cosmetic or is he in acute pain?

If the former, just don't risk it and get him to stop
