I am 16+5 weeks pregnant with my first and suffer with acne which has gotten progressively worse. My doctor has confirmed I can use benzoyl peroxide which I have previously used panoxyl from iHerb for my PCOS acne. I wanted to use a lower concentration due to being pregnant so found a 4% version but couldn't get it on iHerb. I ended up buying on eBay thinking that if it's sealed it would be safe/legit. It arrived and I used it today and felt a slight sting so I washed it off probably under a minute after I put it on. I have since gone down a Reddit/Google rabbit hole and have read about fake panoxyl and I am really worried I have no clue what chemicals I have just put on my skin. I'm quite an anxious person as it is but I feel like an awful mother as I may have just used a product with no clue if it contains damaging chemicals for my baby. I obviously won't use it again and have no real way of knowing 100% whether it's real but I'm quite certain its not. Not too sure what I'm hoping for from this post other than reassurance. Is it worth me mentioning this to my midwife/doctor?
