Constant minor illnesses for the whole pregnancy!

I'm 37 weeks and currently battling an ear infection which has come after a rough cold, which I caught 3 days after recovering from my SECOND bout of norovirus since May. I've also had 2 chest infections, sinusitis, an asthma attack and 2 other minor colds. Not to mention morning sickness which I needed medication for until 18 weeks, and it came back when I was 28 weeks. Oh and iron deficiency which left me feeling shattered but then iron tablets made me throw up everywhere.

I genuinely haven't felt well for a single week this pregnancy. I have a 1.5 year old who I'm guessing is bringing every illness under the sun back from nursery! When I was pregnant with him, I felt amazing and wasn't ill at all! This is so different and I'm utterly drained.

Anyone else had the same experience? I just needed to moan and wallow today while I massage my huge swollen ear and pray I don't find time to get ill again between now and my ELCS 🤪

Oh that sounds pretty miserable. I was definitely less well during my second pregnancy - like you, I seemed to catch every bug going round nursery. But you seem to have had a very rough time. Are you getting much support at home? That's the other problem - you don't get to take time out to recover when you have a toddler demanding your time and attention.

On the plus side, hopefully you'll have got a load of bugs out of the way before baby number two comes along...

You're on the home straight! Good luck and hope you feel better very soon.

Yes. Had all of that and much more. Didn’t enjoy being pregnant in the least (and had a very hard time having kids so that wasn’t easy either). There is a shelf live so just try and focus on the end goal.

I’m only on 17 weeks and I’m feeling this way. Only another 23 weeks of catching what my toddler brings home. No idea how you have managed all that.

Did you take anything at all? So far I have been strict with only paraceetamol (or antibiotics when the doctor prescribed them). I would love soothers or something to help my throat right now. I just don’t know if it’s a risk since the midwife said don’t take anything.
