Potty shot - cord or boy?

First post so bare with me! Had a gender scan today at 15w2d. Confirmed boy on potty shot, but 2 potty shots were given to me and I’m doubting it a little as the second looks different?

I know the first one looks “obvious” but I can’t help but think it’s potentially the umbilical cord? My DS1 potty shot looked different, and the sonographer even said said how difficult it was to see the gender of this one due to how much the baby was moving.

I’m happy either way just don’t want to tell people without having some other opinions!

Thanks

Congrats! I can see why the second one looks a bit confusing but first seems clear and I'm sure the sonographer with the moving image would be able to see clearer so they are most likely right, I wouldn't worry too much about it being wrong

I would say it was clearly a boy, but the sonographer probably knows best!!

Thanks both, the first image just looked so out of proportion for the gestation 😂 I had two nub websites say 80% and 85% girl too so it’s just niggling me! I’ll reconfirm at 20 week scan either way!

Don't forget that the trained sonographer was looking at a moving live time video and would have identified the cord separately before looking at the genitals.
You are looking at a blurry still photograph with an untrained eye so it's not the same.

It is very rare for a mistake to happen, especially this way round where they say boy and it's actually a girl as the genitals are completely different and, once seen, a penis is hard to mistake.
My girl scans look nothing like this.... there are 3 lines which they look for on a girl.

If you don't feel confident though, just wait for a second opinion at your 20 week scan

Looks very like my DS scan so probably is a boy.

Thanks all 😊 I’m happy either way just wanted some reassurance. Someone I know also went to the same clinic and was told boy (she already had a girl) and then got to her 20 week scan and found out it was a girl instead and she’s 3 now, so that’s in my mind too, alongside the “nub theories” I did. Should’ve just done the NIPT and called it a day 😂

You'd probably still be questioning it....I had NIPT and still wasn't 100% certain until I'd had a couple more scans and a really good sonographer who talked me through and pointed out everything she was seeing on the scan.
Don't be afraid to ask questions - ask what is what so they can show you.

That’s definitely what I should’ve asked them to do at my gender scan instead of keeping it a surprise until we got home 😂 they kept umming and arring and saying the baby wasn’t cooperating hasn’t made me feel too confident either 😂 will sit tight until 20 week scan! Did get impatient and buy one baby grow with little brother on but I’ll leave it as the one for now

Yeah I wouldn't feel too confident with that response either- both of my girls were pretty much legs akimbo at every scan so it was easy to see what was what.

Hopefully not long to wait
