Baby has small abdominal circumference at 20 week scan?

Hi,

I had my 20 week scan and doctor said everything looked good and was measuring perfectly except from his abdominal circumference which was measuring small (between 4th and 5th percentile). She has transferred me to a consultant-led care pathway and I will have to go for follow up growth scans every 2 weeks.

Just wondering if anyone else had similar results and what the outcome was?

is this your first? I had the same for DD2, her ac was 3rd centile. I attended foetal medicine scans damn near every two weeks and ctgs twice a week. And then out the sunroof at 37 weeks.

its mostly a precaution, luckily my dd turned out fine. I did notice she was a bit more refluxy than dd1 who had the full 40 weeks and only measured short femur length. Hope it’s just precaution and it’s goood they’re looking after you more.

Yeah, this is my first - I had a bleed at 18 weeks and when they scanned me then his abdominal circumference was on the 94th percentile so seeing it drop that much in two weeks has really worried me!
