Is anyone willing to share their stories about the pains and symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy va normal pregnancy pains?

I feel like it’s on my mind as I have a right hand pain, it doesn’t take my breath away and i can walk etc. mild spotting so if anything gets worse I will get myself checked out. However the pains no worse than a previous pregnancy where the uterus is growing.

I see it come up quite often so wondered if people would be willing to share their stories?

I spoke to GP about painful period-like cramps a couple of weeks ago and was referred straight to EPU for a scan to rule out ectopic. I could walk, didn't even have any bleeding or spotting, pain in shoulder etc but they were very sharp cramps and sometimes woke me up. It can just be pains. Mine wasn't ectopic but they told me I was right to go in. Get it checked out!

I've had 2 ectopics - both ruptured and also miscarriages. For me the pain was very different

Miscarriage pain more a heavy low feeling in your uterus and cramping pain like a period

Ectopic very clearly one sided felt like a stitch. If you draw a line from your belly button to your hip - that sort of area. Progressed to feeling like someone was trying to physically rip my tube from my body. Writhing in agony unable to stand or walk (and I have a high pain threshold)

Thank you for sharing, I feel like saying one sided pain doesn’t help but you saying it’s higher up massively helps!

Im sorry about your losses 🌺

I actually didn't really have any pain with my ruptured ectopic. Bit of a weird sensation down one leg was all, plus dizzy due to blood loss. Hope all is well.
