Is anyone else in the same boat? I am 8 weeks pregnant and have been suffering for the last 3 weeks. I can't imagine another few weeks of this or even months. I feel nauseous all day long, there's no escape from it and I just feel really down about it even though I know I am lucky to be pregnant and have a supportive partner. I have just had a big old cry as I am really struggling :( I feel like I have tried all remedies but if anyone has any suggestions that have helped them please do share as I am in desperate need. Dreading going to work tomorrow...

Oh I sympathise! It will ease eventually.
I have found cold lemonade to help in both my pregnancies!

Yup it's a complete misnomer, I would feel sickly/nauseous all day for about the first 18 weeks but was mainly sick in the evenings. I remember one glorious time, I was being so violently sick that it caused me to have a nose bleed and wet myself. And sorry to say but nothing I did made any real difference. Pregnancy sucks but you just have to hold on to the fact you get a pretty amazing prize at the end.

I feel this. I'm almost 6 weeks and the last week I've had nausea all day every day. It gets worse in the evenings. Who the heck came up with the term "morning" sickness????

sel2223 · 10/11/2024 17:09

It's absolutely horrendous isn't it OP.
I can't really really offer advice advice except to say that, for most women, it does get better.
I'm 20 weeks now and currently sick about once a week rather than the numerous times every day and night like before. Stay strong and stay hydrated.

fortheloveofcollies · 10/11/2024 17:33

It's horrible. I had 24/7 nausea until 15 weeks. None of the home remedies helped me at all. The only thing was getting anti sickness medicine from the doctors. But it didn't get rid of it, just took the worst of it away.

It will get better but it's so hard at the beginning.

I had HG the first 14 weeks in hospital on a drip etc, tried 5 meds all which gave me minor relief from constant nausea and vomiting multiple times a day. Then I requested Xonvea medication after some research and it’s been amazing. 32 weeks now and only been sick 3/4 times since starting. Keep trying meds you don’t have to deal with it

Sunnydayze · 10/11/2024 18:16

@Adamsapple89 I have actually just been prescribed Xonvea so I’m pleased to hear that helped you!

I puked every day for 9 months with HG it’s rough….silver lining it’s the best diet I’ve been on (I need to laugh or I would cry)

My consultants rules were:

  • eat whatever you want and try little / often. It doesn’t matter if you eat chips multiple times a day. Avoid trying to eat things because you think they are healthy.
  • ice lollys are great at adding fluids / electrolytes slowly.
  • full fat coke or lemonade slightly flat are also great
  • take it easy, being tired makes it worse
  • start on medication as soon as possible, your hormones cycle every 3 days ish so you might be fine for 2 days then bam hormones have increased and the surge makes it feel out of control
  • sniffing lemon can stop the gagging
  • take b6 and b12 supplements (Xonvea has b12 I think)

If you struggle speak to pregnancy sickness support charity who can advise other medication options / mental health support

I have this I know how you feel I’m almost 7 weeks and felt fine initally had back ache now that has gone I am constantly feeling sick and being sick!! I am dreading the thought of work and the school run in the morning, I just don’t know how I am going to get through it 😢

Hrf1503 · 10/11/2024 19:03

Nothing helped me until Prochlorperazine. Now it’s manageable provided I don’t have an empty stomach! It’s so awful, I didn’t feel human until 16 weeks with my daughter, I don’t understand why there’s so little support / information given on the medication. I hope the Xonvea helps, if it doesn’t go back for something else x
