Loud vibrations from loud music

Hi, I would love others stories from similar experience, and outcomes. So my friend very kindly organised surprise hen party for me, I am 14 weeks pregnant. One part was a show at a nightclub, didn't know until we got there. The bar there karaoke and it was so loud I could not hear her and the vibrations through my body was overwhelming and I panicked. Went into the show room bit and was the same, we left after 30 minutes. I worry more about the vibrations through my body from the low frequency or bass. Dj must have been death. This was two nights ago and I am still freaking out about it. First night for me to put a dress on, and I never want to go out again.

Baby is well cushioned in there don't worry x

I went to a heavy metal concert at the O2 at 31 weeks pregnant (in seats not standing!) No issues and baby is 4 months old with perfect hearing/health. Please don’t worry

I danced next to a speaker at G.A.Y at the Astoria 37 weeks pregnant. I could feel the bass pulsing through my whole body.

DS turned 25 this year.

Congratulations on your baby OP.

Thank you everyone, this means a great deal. The midwife was lovely but you sort of feel they tell you what you want to hear, but hearing your stories and saying what others have said really reassures me. I am so happy I joined mums net. Thank you :) xx

I am sure all will be well OP, we’ve all done it and it’s been OK, and you were right to check with your midwife if you had concerns.

But at the start of the excercise class I go to at my gym the instructor asks about any pregnancies, obviously to advise on any alternatives where appropriate, but also because they are trained to turn the sound and bass level down if there is a pg woman in the class.

Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and look forward to your baby.

Took my DD to see Sam Fender while she was still just a bump. At two years on, she still dances as soon as she hears his music!

You will be absolutely fine :-)

I played in a brass band until I was 6 months pregnant
My son is very musical now! Grade 8 distinction on his chosen instrument
I've often wondered if that was influential!

Keep us posted OP! We want to know what littleSheep comes out rocking to!

MillyMichaelson · 10/11/2024 21:39

My music is full blast every day all day tbh, and I have three perfectly healthy children with no hearing issues 😁

CaribouCarafe · 11/11/2024 02:43

I went to a hen do at 6 months, which featured several hours dancing at a nightclub. Baby was born perfectly healthy with perfect hearing. I'm sure yours will be fine too!

I'm sure the trainer upthread only asks the question about pregnancy for legal protection/reduce liability "just in case" rather than it being grounded in real risk
