To call triage?

I'm 36+5. A couple of days ago I started getting strong period like pain and an ache in my lower back. Yesterday morning I lost a part of my mucus plug. The pains continued throughout the day. I lost no more plug since the morning. I thought I was probably in early labour but as my due date based on LMP was earlier than based on dating scan I was just going to ride it out thinking I'm closer to the 37 week mark anyway. Regular tightenings throughout but nothing overly painful.

Now the pains have gone away and I am feeling extremely ill like flu like symptoms. Movements are okay but I worry something is wrong.

I found triage previously to be quite difficult and dismissive . But feel really awful and not sure if I've just got a bug out of something is wrong. Would you call ?

You need to call triage right away and get yourself checked. Hopefully you have nicer staff this time. Make sure you really push for a thorough check. Can you take your partner with you? They can advocate for you.

It's always better to call to be sure.

Not meaning to scare you but a similar thing happened to a relative of mine but an earlier gestation and it turned out she had pre-eclampsia. So I'd definitely call just to be on the safe side.

Please call - this is quite literally what triage is for. It’s probably just Braxton Hicks and you’re coming down with a cold, but so much better to rule more sinister causes eg an infection or pre-eclampsia out.

If you feel they are being dismissive you don’t need to wait for them to invite you in - you can ask to be seen in person and they’ll bring you in.

Always best to call and get checked.
I actually am having the same situation and I called them and they just advised me over the phone.
I can go in if I’m worried but they said it was normal what I explained - just be safe and call and ask for a check up if ever in doubt.

Hope everything ok and triage are helpful this time x

Please call triage and go to get checked. That’s what they are there for - they shouldn’t make you feel bad about anything, even if it is nothing to worry about.
