Extreme tiredness

Fellow pregnant women..are we all this tired? Only 24 weeks and I'm EXHAUSTED. I've reduced my hours to 4hrs a day 4x a week so nope not work exhausted. After work I do a few jobs round the house and that's it I'm off to bed!
I sleep for around 10hours a night but probably not that much as I wake every hour tossing and turning/toilet trips

It's 11am and I'm yawning already😅 normal symptom?

Please leave the 'wait for the newborn tiredness' comments. Thanks😆

haha I feel you I’m 25 weeks and so tired. On top of that I’m not sleeping. Insomnia!! And hips hurting a lot in bed so tossing turning all night. Still working my 9 hour shifts 5 days a week but struggling!

CookieMonster28 · 09/11/2024 11:11

To be honest I found pregnancy tiredness worse than newborn sleep deprivation!
I'm 28 weeks with no2 and ready for a nap already this morning despite 9hrs sleep 😂

I used to take a nap on my lunch break and go to bed straight when I finished 5pm, get up and have dinner and back to sleep by 9/10pm.

Right the hip pain is something else!! I'm always rolling from one side to the other every 30 mins. I salute you with those long hours! I'm self employed so cut my hours for November but have to go back to full time for December as it's super busy!! Dreading that.

Have you got a pregnancy pillow? DH brought me one and I can't get on with it or find a way for it to be comfy🥲

Great news! Every time I've said I'm tired I get the typical wait until his here it's going to get a whole lot worse and I'm like cheers thanks for that!😆 not long left for you now!

Yes we are!

I'm utterly exhausted, to the point I'm finding it quite debilitating to be honest, I don't seem to have the energy for anything.

I've got low blood pressure so that could be part of it but I'm taking multivitamins and iron, eating more now the nausea has improved a bit, drinking plenty etc.
I really don't remember it being this bad first time round

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 09/11/2024 11:39

Are you anaemic?

I was wiped out in the first trimester but it got a lot better after that.

anonny55 · 09/11/2024 11:48

@sel2223 yes also very debilitating here!

I'm not sure? I last had my bloods done at about 16 weeks and nothing popped up to suggest so I'm assuming as no one told me if so..I have a Glucose tolerance test on Monday so perhaps that may show if I am? I'm just so tired!! I've not moved from the sofa at all yet!

I was utterly shattered at the same point in my pregnancy, several hours of naps every day and could barely function when I was awake. Bloods at 28 weeks showed my iron was really low - I'm so much better now after being on supplements for a few weeks! Have ended up having way more energy in my third trimester than I did in my second. Would definitely recommend getting it checked

Purplestarballoon · 09/11/2024 12:28

Another one to say that I found pregnancy way more tiring than the newborn stage because at least with a newborn when you do get a chance to have a bit of sleep you’re not super uncomfy! I’m 18 weeks with number 2 and completely wiped out every day! Just counting the months down 🤪

I have my 25 week midwife appointment next week so will mention it and see if she could do bloods for me..thankyou🙂

I am incredibly tired and I’m only at 16 weeks. In my last pregnancy my low iron was picked up at the 8 week blood test but this time it’s either fine or been missed (I asked what my ferritin level was and she couldn’t find the result even though we agreed for it to be tested due to last time). The extreme tiredness came on a bit later this time at around 10/11 weeks whereas last time I had it from 6 weeks. I have a feeling my iron is low but the midwife isn’t seeing me again now until 27 weeks.

Makingchocolatecake · 09/11/2024 22:34

I'm only 6 weeks and I'm exhausted. I'd forgotten how tired pregnancy makes you. I think it's a different tired to the newborn tired. If I managed to have one decent night's sleep with baby I felt alright for a maybe a day, but with pregnant tired it never goes away!
