Hello everyone, I am 6 weeks pregnant and I became pregnant straight after a miscarriage with no period between. I had a scan at 5 weeks and everything was perfect! I have another at 7 weeks to see the development and if there is a heartbeat.

I began to notice very light pink bleeding in my discharge which is coming and going (without pain). I have the odd cramping, nausea waves and tender boobs. I decided to test again today as understandably I am worried this is the beginning of another miscarriage. The tests look good but the hcg strips keep going between faint and dark. This one is also stronger than the control line? Is this viable?

I’m also just looking for some reassurance and positivity as this is such a worrying period and I have done well by not testing consistently and recognising only time will tell but sometimes we can’t help it. Thank you ❤️

Hi OP, sorry for your previous loss.

Unfortunately, the tests won't be able to tell you if this pregnancy is viable..... nor will anyone on here. Only time can tell you that as you already know yourself, repeatedly testing won't change anything and will just cause extra anxiety and worry.

This is definitely the worst part of pregnancy when you just have to wait and see. Try to keep busy and keep your mind occupied as much as possible

Good luck

Hi OP,

im so sorry to hear of your previous loss. I had a MMC and then fell pregnant with my DS back in 2020. I had bleeding with both, so just as a reassurance that early bleeding doesn’t always mean bad news.

By the looks of it, your test lines still look really strong :) so that’s good news. But like the previous poster said, I would advise against continuously testing because it won’t tell you how viable your pregnancy is.

I would call your EPU on Monday (unless it’s open today) and tell them about your loss and now your spotting and they should for you in for an early scan. ❤️ baby wont look like a baby at this gestation but you should be able to see if they are in line with dates/where they should be.

best of luck xx

Hi Op,

So sorry for your loss and congratulations on your rainbow pregnancy ♥️
I was in a very similar position 2 years ago, mmc in May 2022 with some spotting. Fell pregnant without a period in between and my little one is 20 months now.
I had a fair bit of light bleeding in the successful pregnancy too. I did get in touch with EPU though as I assumed I was having another miscarriage. They tested hcg as they thought it might be leftover rather than a new pregnancy (even though I’d had a scan to ensure everything had passed). Because of the bleeding in two consecutive tries they did prescribe me progesterone pessaries to take from 6-16 weeks.
Agree with Pp, ring the Epu on Monday and ask to be seen if you can, but it definitely doesn’t automatically mean bad news ♥️best of luck

Hi guys!
thank you. I was already in touch with EPU as similar to yourself they thought it could be the old pregnancy and wanted to rule out ectopic if it is a new pregnancy. Thankfully on the 5 week scan everything looked good! I have my 7 week scan on Wednesday but when I ringed and told them about the bleeding they said they weren’t concerned as it wasn’t heavy and I wasn’t in a lot of pain so definitely a hard 4 day wait and fingers crossed 🤞

I’m so sorry for your losses and congratulations on your rainbow babs 🤍

Hugs OP! I’ve had 3 pregnancies with light bleeding, 2 needed up in MC and one in my daughter. It’s so hard not to worry. Best of luck x
