Hello,

Just a bit of backstory, I tend to only have discharge after emptying my bowels and it all comes out as once. This morning I hadn't emptied by bowels and had a busy day up and about. While walking, I felt a load of stuff come out and went to fine the nearest toilet and found this (so sorry about picture - the black stuff is fluff). Obviously a lot of discharge, but worried about the wet ring around it.

Haven't had anything since. Went to the toilet again and it was just discharge (a lot of it). Also, the way it has dried on my underwear, I can still see the wet outline and wondering if amnotic fluid would just dry away and leave no mark? I'm away for a night so not near my normal hospital so I think it's adding to anxiety. I am 25 weeks and 5 days.

Any reassurence much appeciated x

BUMP
I haven't had leakage since. Went for a #2 this morning, while half asleep on my phone (I'm such a man) and thought to myself "am I still weeing?". I think it was just that I wasn't councious of doing it and I was clenching for a poo (tmi - sorry!). Now got it convinced in my mind that maybe it was my waters again. I have crouched down and clenched, coughed ect and nothing. Going home today and so will head to my maternity triage this evening. But any reassurence much appeciated. Is it possible for my body to hold in the waters?

Thanks in advance!

Personally this just looks like discharge to me and it can be really watery. Why don't you put a pad on and monitor it for a couple of hours and then phone maternity triage if it still continues.
In my experience when my waters were trickling out when I was in early labour it felt like I had wet myself or like when your period is heavy and you feel it come out, if you know what I mean?

Amniotic fluid has a very distinctive sweet smell. You'd know it instantly from the smell.

Was there any doubt in your mind that they had broken, or did you realise after it continued to trickle? I feel like I am so paranoid about it that I'm not sure what a logical person would think or do.

Thank you for your help and advice!

I was full term when mine started to trickle out so it was pretty obvious what was happening, plus I was in pain.
Is there a smell to the discharge? Do you notice it coming out as a gush? Any other symptoms like stomach pain, or itching/burning when you pee?
