Chemical/ectopic?

Hi all,

I have attached a pic of a faint positive result I got on an early pregnancy test on Tues, I tested on Sun/Mon too & had faint positives. I have been cramping on & off all week but no bleeding. Tested this morning and the lines are barely there, one of the tests looked negative. My last period was around 10th October so if I was pregnant I’m assuming I should be getting very bold positives by now especially as my period is 3 days late.

Is it possible that this has been a chemical pregnancy (never experienced before) if so is the pain meant to be so intense? And why am I not bleeding yet? Or could this maybe be an ectopic, but would the tests get lighter with that? I can barely walk up the stairs for the pain on the right hand side of my back.

I tried to get a GP appointment but the receptionist wouldn’t put me through and told me to speak to early pregnancy at the hospital, feel a bit silly doing that though as my tests look negative at this point.

thanks for reading this far (if you have lol) I am having the worst week x

If you have that much pain and have had a positive test please call the EPU at the hospital, they'll probably want to scan you to be sure. Don't feel silly, they see hundreds of women a month with similar worries. Better to be safe than sorry x

Thank you @moosey89 I just hate to feel like I am wasting anyone's time as I know that chemicals are fairly common and it most likely is that. But as you said better safe than sorry x

Hello! I'd call EPU ASAP. Ectopic pregnancies are genuinely really dangerous. Don't feel silly, I'm sure they'd prefer you to call rather than be in pain.

On another note - it did take quite a while for me to get a clear positive. Everyone is different. But the pain sounds concerning!

Hope it goes well for you.
