5 weeks bleeding

I am 5 weeks today and woke up with bright red blood and cramps. Not extremely heavy and no clots, just some stringy discharge. I tried to get a scan but they said I need to be 6 weeks before they’ll do one. Still having cramps and bleeding bright red, early pregnancy unit said this is common between 5/6 weeks. Anyone else experienced this?

I have no advice I’m afraid, but I also woke up this morning with heavy bleeding and cramps at almost 5 weeks pregnant. Its scary, but just know that whatever the outcome it will be okay, and that bleeding during pregnancy can, sometimes, still mean that you continue to go on to have a healthy pregnancy.

Just came across this as I am also bleeding, started last Wednesday brown, and Sunday more red/brown, and today bright red.
slight cramps but nothing major, no clots either. I went through a miscarriage back in June so just fearing the worst. I have been referred to EPU but they won’t see me until next Thursday - such a long wait :(

I hope your outcome is the same as mine OP, I had bleeding from 4-6w and I was scanned yesterday at 7w and baby is growing great with a HB. No explanation for my bleeding. I also bled in my first pregnancy without explanation. X

Ahhh thanks for your reply! This gives me a little bit of hope. Are you still bleeding? It’s the wait that drives me insane I just want to know where I stand.

Sorry @BroomAdventures was yours a red bleed? This hasn’t got any worse over last few days. Last night I had a space of 3 hours where it eased but then it came back x

Yeah mine was like a period to begin with, then it then went to pink and has stopped since Friday. I bled onto liners, every time I went to the loo and was convinced I was miscarrying but thankfully I wasn’t. I hope it eases off for you. Have you rang the EPU? X

Yeah I’m bleeding into pads too, it’s unfortunately gone heavier today also. I’m convinced I’m miscarrying too. I rang the doctors Monday, they tjen rang EPU on behalf of me, and they’ve put me in for a scan next week (Thursday). I feel a bit helpless coz they won’t see me as I’m not 6 weeks, but I am bleeding heavier xx

I am week 5 and am experiencing quite heavy bleeding although no clots. The wait for the scan is unbearable :( any advice and thanks for the community
