hello everyone, my partner and I recently fot
married and have wanted to start trying straight away. I know when my fertile window is so we started to try to conceive around 19/23rd October .

I started to get symptoms around 28th, like really bloated, nausea, dizziness and really hungry. I took a test on Saturday 2nd November and it was positive 1-2. We were due to fly back home so I left the test and thought I would take another one when I got home. I have since tested and it is showing not pregnant. My period is due Saturday 9th but I am still having the same symptoms. My boobs have got bigger and I had a small bleed yesterday but haven’t got it since.

has anyone else experienced this? Would I still be pregnant? Is it possible to be positive then negative and positive again? It is driving me crazy.

any help is much appreciated.

you think you began to show symptoms less than a week after TTC?

Justmarried24 · 06/11/2024 08:33

I have been tracking my ovulation and they aren’t the normal symptoms I would normally get. Normally after ovulation everything is fine. But all these symptoms came and the positive test on the Saturday. I am just very confused, this is my first positive and first time trying for a baby.

It's still really early OP as you havnt missed a period yet. The digital tests have a high threshold of HCG to detect compared to others. Levels fluctuate at time of day, how hydrated you are ect and this early those things do make a difference to if a test will pick them up or not. The bleed if small could have been an implantation bleed based on the timing. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is wait a few days, ideally until you are due, then test again. Some tests are better than others for early detection, if you really can't wait.

Ps symptoms won't tell you much this early, try to put those to the back of your mind it will drive you crazy.

Just wait until you’ve missed a period.

Hi OP.

You're testing too early. Don't worry about getting conflicting results.

If you period is due on 9th Nov you're only at the point of implantation right now.

Wait and see if you miss AF.

Good luck!

Hi OP,

It could be that you are just testing super early and different tests have different sensitivities. Also your urine will be more concentrated at different times of the day so that can produce different results even on the same day.

I know it's hard but the best thing you can do is just wait to see if you miss your period otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy every month symptom spotting and second guessing.

Alternatively, if you got an early positive and it turns to a negative then you do get your period, this could be what is called a chemical pregnancy - basically a very, very early miscarriage that a lot of women don't even know they've had.

For symptoms, it's unusual to get them this early as symptoms are caused by the hcg hormone which will increase as time goes on. I had slightly sore boobs at the time when I missed a period but nothing earlier then that. Everything else came later.
I think sometimes your mind can play tricks on you with symptoms as when I was TTC, the months when I absolutely 'felt' pregnant and had loads of symptoms, I wasn't. The two times I have been pregnant, I've felt no different at all before missing a period.... it's just felt like AF is about to arrive but she never does.
