Brown spotting/discharge 4-5 weeks pregnant

I’m about 5 weeks pregnant but I have had brown spotting/discharge for about 10 days since before I even got positive test (not loads, just when I wipe on/off and in pants)

I actually assumed I wasn’t pregnant as I always get brown spotting before AF so I thought this was just a normal month.

anyone else had this and positive stories?
i have gone from 1-2 on Clearblue digital to 2-3 (16dpo) so things seem to be progressing….

im just worrying which is making me really sad!

When I was newly pregnant I had a splodge of blood followed by a few days of brown discharge which gradually lightened and then stopped. I think it was implantation bleeding; hopefully this is the case for you too❤️

Pregnancy 1 had this at 8 weeks and it wasn’t good news.

Pregnancy 2 had this at 5 weeks, lasted 4 days and everything was normal.

Pregnancy 3 had this at 4 weeks for literally just an hour, and again it was absolutely fine.

It’s so hard not to worry and not to want answers. But frustratingly there is just no way to tell at your stage other than wait it out. A GP could measure your blood HCG a few days apart to see if it’s rising, but they would probably refuse (my GP didn’t offer this when I spoke to them) and it’s too early for a definitive US.

I’ve been there with the worrying, especially after my first pregnancy didn’t work out. It’s horrible. So I’m sending you lots of luck and positive thoughts and just try to take each day as it comes x
