@CatCaretaker it took a few sessions definitely! But being relaxed and hydrated was key.
don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t flow and fill the syringe easily, I had to really collect those droplets and fill up the syringe over about 20 minutes lol.
they’re only small so you I did manage to fill them.

I wouldn’t worry too much if you can’t get any! Baby will help the production when she/he comes!

@Lunamoon23 i had a water birth.. it was amazing honestly! I’m a second time parent and the guilt I felt about my toddler really ate me alive but he has been incredible since his little sister has invaded his space 😂

so in my last experience (it was hell) I did end up with a spinal block as I had to go to theatre. No pain at all - just a weird feeling when the needle goes in. Just make sure you really bend forward and trust the anaesthesiologist.

Newborn bubble is lovely but I had to have stitches which have been sooo uncomfortable and my body hurts soo much. I’ve been fortunate enough that my moms been visiting and massaging me 😭🫶🏽

Well ladies after losing more of my plug last night I hauled my butt out for a walk today to try encourage my lil rascal to get properly engaged and moving... 5 miles I marched (and a wonder round a cafe, shop and park in between) and most of which I was pushing my 3 year old in his old buggy as he has been choked with a cold and has no energy. And...

... Its done nothing. 😂

But atleast I'm hoping we will both get a good sleep tonight and toddler won't pull his new trick of appearing in my room after midnight.

Hope you've all had a nice day while waiting on your babies 💖

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 20:24

@Twinkletwinklelil that's reassuring. Thank you, I think that's what was panicking me, that if it hurt I'd move, which you don't want to do when someone has something in your spine 😅 I'm also terrified of needles, which doesn't help...

I'm so glad you had a wonderful birth, sorry to hear your struggling postpartum though. Hopefully it'll start to improve quickly for you. Bless your mum, what would we do without them ey? Still there to look after their babies even when those babies are having babies 😂 my mum is being one of my birth partners, although she won't be able to be in theatre with us, she'll be waiting on tender hooks. I remember being told she'd be able to come and when I told her, her face lit up.

@OnNaturesCourse oh bless you... have you tried kerb walking? I've seen alot about that and keep seeing it's meant to really help!
If I wasn't having my csection Thursday I think I'd be in it for the long haul... as I haven't even seen a trace of my mucus plug yet and I'm 39+2. X

I know this feeling! I felt like nothing would happen and then it happened the night when my toddler was back in bed with us, my dh had 1 hour of sleep and I just wanted to sleep and pretend it wasn’t happening 😂😂
went and kicked a ball around at the park with dh and toddler and went on a long long walk!
Hope you get there soon!! Xx

Thanks @Lunamoon23 no I didn’t get through, my surgery is useless. It’s a case of whoever phones in the fastest gets a call back. Will have to try again tomorrow.

My bump has dropped and it’s where the skin is rubbing together like a sweat rash. It looks awful, red and angry, broken areas that bleed and so painful. Just been trying to keep it clean and dry. It’s not quite as red today but still pretty sore.

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 20:44

@MaybeBaby2024 I feel you with regard to the GP. My surgery is the exact same, they also actively encourage online econsults instead of phoning, so the last time I needed them I did this, 5 days later they got back to me saying 'sorry for the delayed reply, e-consults are not picked up immediately?!' I was like, yet that's what the receptionist tells you to do when you phone 😂

But ouch that sounds really painful. I hope you can get some help tomorrow! Do you have any cream you can apply to it, a barrier cream as such? Xxxxx

Agh I've really struggled with rashes throughout pregnancy with terrible rashes under my boobs all over my bump, legs etc it's awful 😭 never had this before pregnancy. for the rash under my boobs which had gotten really bad (I don't even have big boobs!!) I was prescribed bentnovate which is a steroid cream, it's the only thing that worked to clear it up. It did clear up but is back now. In the meantime the e45 anti-itch cream is quite good but yea I feel your pain. I don't think a pharmacist will be able to give you steroid cream but it might be worth speaking to a pharmacist for advice? Also you can take antihistamines to help combat any itching, loratadine is safe to take in pregnancy x

HelterSkelter224 · 10/12/2024 20:51

@OnNaturesCourse 5 miles, they'd good going!!! I can barely make it up my stairs 😵‍💫 here's hoping tonight is your night!!

@Lunamoon23 will be thinking of you tomorrow, hope all goes well ❤️❤️❤️

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 20:52

@HelterSkelter224 I'm not in till Thursday, was meant to be tomorrow but got moved xxxxx

@HelterSkelter224 I'm not in till Thursday, was meant to be tomorrow but got moved xxxxx

Oh of course - I thought tomorrow WAS Thursday lol 🤪

How are you feeling about everything?

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 20:57

@HelterSkelter224 honestly .... I don't know. 😂🥴

I'm super anxious and scared, but also so so excited. It's like I don't know how to feel from one minute to the next. I'm currently handling it better than I thought I would be, I thought I'd be a wreck this close to it.. but I'm not. Just hoping I can keep it under wraps on the day. 🤞🏼

OnNaturesCourse · 10/12/2024 21:00

@Lunamoon23 thats so close! How are you feeling?

I've done kerb walking quite a lot, most days on the school run but no luck as yet!

OnNaturesCourse · 10/12/2024 21:05

@Lunamoon23 that would be me too, a bit all over the place. Such a big thing to have an official end date for... I don't think I'd be able to sleep for days before

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 21:09

@OnNaturesCourse tbh that last couple of nights I've barely slept. I was still wondering around the house at 3am this morning. But, I didn't feel like I was awake because I was scared of anxious. Just felt like insomnia, fell asleep for an hour when I went to bed and then just woke up wide awake.. But i imagine tomorrow night I won't get a wink of sleep... 😅

MaybeBaby2024 · 10/12/2024 21:48

@Lunamoon23 @HelterSkelter224
My surgery doesn’t even do e-consults! You ring at half 8 on the dot and if you’re any higher than number 20 in the queue you can be sure all the callback slots will be taken by the time you speak to reception 🙄 it’s so stupid. Should be some system where they still take the info and allow the GPs to triage and decide, but no.

Im already on antihistamines for other allergies. Thankfully the rash isn’t itchy, just really painful. Tried Vaseline, tried a nappy rash cream, and tried putting sudocreme on today but it made the skin feel tight. Been using cotton pads to try and keep the skin folds from touching each other.

It probably does need some kind of topical steroid. It’s horrible looking. I have a scan next week and would be embarrassed to have them see it.

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 22:03

@MaybeBaby2024 don't be embarrassed, our body's go through so much creating our babies and the sonographer/midwife would have seen it all and more before. But I understand feeling self conscious but please don't feel embarrassed ❤️

MaybeBaby2024 · 10/12/2024 22:25

@Lunamoon23 I know, that’s true. Just don’t want to give them another reason to have a go at me about my BMI. I’m already upset enough that this is partially my fault for having excess belly fat, and ashamed I’ve let my body get into this state.

I do need to be a bit kinder to myself I think lol.

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 22:41

@MaybeBaby2024 let it all go over your head.. you are who you are and you're still creating and carrying a life. Which is amazing, regardless of shape or size. Now isn't the time for them to be berating you about it. ❤️ definitely be kinder to yourself, plus you're so close to the finish line, it'll all be a distant memory then x x

MaybeBaby2024 · 10/12/2024 22:44

@Lunamoon23 you are right!

Role on delivery day.

Can you believe you’ll have a baby by the weekend?! I’m sure you’re excited it’s so close now.

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 22:51

@MaybeBaby2024 when is your due date??

And I know it's mad to think that in a couple nights time we'll be back here at home in bed, but our lives will never be the same again and they'll be a baby here. It almost doesn't seem real. 😂 xxxxx

MaybeBaby2024 · 10/12/2024 22:58

@Lunamoon23 it will be a shock to your system those first few days and weeks but you’ll get there. Takes a bit of time for you and baby to get to know each other, but you’ll find your flow.

Im not due til 29th! But low key hoping he arrives before Christmas, less disruption for DC1 that way.

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 23:04

@MaybeBaby2024 most definitely, me and DH have been talking all day about baby stuff and I'm quite excited to navigate it together. He's got a month off from work (which I know is longer than most and I'm thankful for it), I just wish they were able to have longer.

And even still... the 29th isn't far away at all! Will be here before you know it!! Let's just hope it isn't Christmas Day 😂 xxx

LilyJessie · 10/12/2024 23:07

@MaybeBaby2024 - don't be at all embarrassed. If I were you I would walk into my GP and demand an appt if you're that uncomfortable whilst in the last stages of growing a baby! What a ridiculous system. That it call triage, and explain to them. They might be able to see you and prescribe a topical cream.

@Twinkletwinklelil - lovely to see you're settling with baby and the water birth was a positive experience. I bet the stitches are so uncomfortable.

@Lunamoon23 - I had a spinal block for a cervical stitch, and it's exactly the same procedure you'll have, and it was honestly absolutely fine. I was nervous but it was genuinely fine.
So excited for you to meet your baby tomorrow.

Lunamoon23 · 10/12/2024 23:24

@LilyJessie thank you, that's reassuring to know. And it's Thursday I'm having him. It was originally tomorrow but was moved to Thursday xxxx

Firsttimetrier · 11/12/2024 11:31

Just had my last scan and baby is well and truly head down, which I had guessed by the sensation I’ve been getting.

An odd way to describe it, but does the engaged head feel like rubbing on the cervix? It almost feels like something is scratching on what I assume is my cervix, if that makes any sense?

Here’s to hoping they make an appearance in the next week, or they stay put until NYE onwards 😂
