Could this be the start of a miscarriage?

I seem to be posting and asking questions about this pregnancy non stop here, so I apologise. I have a question to ask and maybe someone can tell me their story (good or bad). So I am roughly 5-6 weeks along in my pregnancy, and today I woke up with slight cramps that goes between my right side and all over over my pelvic area. When I went to the toilet I had blood slightly more than spotting, it continued for maybe 2 hours that got lighter as time has gone on, I still can feel a slight cramp down there but bleeding is very light only enough to see when I wipe. And is a light pink watery colour. I tested myself and I'm still getting a dark positive. Maybe someone knows if I'll be okay or could this be the start of a miscarriage? Thanks.

I don’t think that anyone can tell you.

If there is a EPAU near you, find out if you can self refer or get your GP to refer you.

I would stop the pregnancy tests, I got a positive test up to 3 weeks after miscarrying even when it had all passed and the bleeding had stopped. Pregnancy hormones stick around for a very long time. You are wasting your money on something that gives you zero meaningful information.

I understand trying to get through to my gp is impossible and my caredoc said to see where it goes..... I have a little girl who's 3 and never had any sort of bleeding so Im just looking for story's of anything similar as I've nothing else to go by. I only had a test in my press so I took it. I know it could mean nothing or everything everyone's different....

Could you Google your nearest EPAU and get an appointment for bloods and possibly a scan to check it’s not ectopic?

Bleeding and cramping can be a sign of miscarriage but there’s plenty of people on MN who have had these symptoms and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy.
Its such a tricky one.

Bleeding and cramping can be a sign of an early miscarriage sadly but nobody on MN can tell you if that's the care or not. You need to see a healthcare professional. Call your GP or look for an out of hours Dr.

I have called they said to wait it out.. I'm only looking to see if anyone has had anything similar not necessarily a diagnosis.

Yes I had something similar.
The pain and bleeding got much much worse for me over a short amount of time.
Sometimes it would stop but then start again.
Everyone is different.

Im really sorry that this is happening to you, you must be so worried.
Do you have good support at home to help you navigate this? X

The bleeding started again when I went to the toilet still nothing major it's light enough, cramps are very mild and come and go if barely notice them if I wasn't bleeding. I am hoping this could be late implantation bleeding, maybe I'll know tomorrow if it continues or not! My partner is very confused he doesn't get it at all but he's there when I need him x

Sorry you’re going through this - I’ve been there! This sounds a little like the start of my MC at 7 weeks, but with my current pregnancy (38 weeks) I had some light pink bleeding around 5 weeks that turned out to be implantation, so it could go either way.

It’s unlikely your EPU will see you this early so you may have to just wait it out I’m afraid. I went to my GP but they can’t really tell you anything. If the worst does happen, know that it’s very likely you’ll conceive again soon.

Thank you, wishing you the best for your delivery! I'm hoping it's just implantation it's not getting worse and it's been almost 12 hours! Such a worrying time!

Honestly find the number for your nearest EPAU and give them a ring as soon as they open in the morning. They might not be able to scan you until 6 weeks but they'll be able to give you much better advice than any of us on here. They'll ask you to describe the bleeding and may then get you in for tests or otherwise hold on until you can be scanned.

I plan on ringing, they don't open until 9am. I will have work from 6am so hopefully I will feel better before.
