No harm just being careful - better than dealing with it in public. Hope all goes well

It's far more likely you'll show signs such as contractions before your waters break so I personally didn't bother!

It wouldn’t hurt I guess, I dont remember wearing anything but I wasn’t working by then. My waters did do with no contractions though the first time so probably a good idea.

Although would you know they had gone if a pad absorbs it?

Notthebeard · 03/11/2024 11:47

My waters broke in a massive gush! No pad would have had a hope of containing it! And then more and more kept coming out, the poor midwives couldn’t keep up. Don’t think I’d bother. Maybe pack puppy pads and towels in your bag in case of an emergency taxi ride home?

I'd carry a maternity pad with you and maybe a spare pair of knickers. My waters went with a gush so a pad would have been useless. What I didn't expect was there to be more water whenever I walked so I would want a clean pair of knickers and a pad for after if they did go
