Symptoms reducing 8-9 weeks?

I am 8+6 pregnant and found that my sore boobs stopped around a week ago. Is this normal? I had an early scan a few days ago and baby was fine measuring 3 days ahead so by my scan if baby continues to grow at the same rate I’d be 9+2.

My placenta could be seen developing and baby’s heart rate was good. I am finding that whilst I am still exhausted, have food aversions and the occasional vomit with long lasting nausea. My boobs are pretty comfortable and some of the other symptoms ahve also reduced. Is this due to the Luteo placental shift starting or should I worry?

I am very nervous of a miscarriage or MMC and still don’t see my midwife until next week! I have booked another early scan for next weekend just to check in then hopefully it won’t be long until my 12 week scan.

Can this be normal or should I start preparing for the worst?

This is totally normal, I lost all symptoms from about 8 weeks to 13 weeks! (Two scans in that time and baby happy and healthy).

I think a lot of the symptoms come from various hormones rocketing, which will be levelling out now, so don't panic if you start losing the nausea and so on too :)

Thanks @MaroonyBalloony !
I know my hCG was very high to begin with (27,000 at 5 weeks) and really slowed down after 6 weeks so hopefully things are just settling. I’m going to speak to my midwife about my worries and have the scan at the weekend plus maybe another before the 12 week scan depending when it ends up being (sometimes is 14 weeks around here)

Sounds good, try not to get addicted to reassurance scans though!

I've had to force myself not to have too many as I feel they just give relief for a few days then I'm worried again.

I think we'll have nicer pregnancies if we can learn to believe that everything is ok until told otherwise!

The issue is I use the ultrasound daily at work and my boss has given me the green light to scan if I feel anxious so if I didn't have scans booked in I'd find myself obsessively checking daily which I know isn't good. I'd rather pay a every 2 ish weeks have someone else do the checking and measuring rather than me trying to scan and measure and potentially freaking myself out. My next scan is a dating scan and then a week and a bit later I have my NIPT with a quick scan before

After 12 weeks I'm only planning to have 1 or 2 extra scans

This is very normal.

My symptoms all reduced around the same time but came back even worse about a week later!

I'm 19 weeks now and still have periods where i don't even feel pregnant but then other times when I feel absolutely horrific. Some days no sickness at all, other days I'm throwing up 3 or 4 times!

You might be one of the lucky ones though who's symptoms go when the placenta takes over

yawn25 · 03/11/2024 10:33

Thank you @sel2223
I am still vomiting and exhausted it's just the sore boobs have gone. Food aversion still present too

All biological female relations had 0 nausea and pretty much no symptoms so I feel so so thankful I have at least had some to reassure me

My mum had 4 kids and not a day of sickness or nausea with any of us!!

You'll probably find the sore boobs come back . I've had very sensitive nipples this last few weeks .

yawn25 · 03/11/2024 10:38

My mam was the same with 3 girls @sel2223 and aunts the same with a mix of girls/boys. My sister had no symptoms with her little boy too.

I've had just enough to keep me calm. Vomiting 3/4 times in the morning then queasy through the day. Headaches on and off too and severe exhaustion. I just really want this baby to stick

So you still have strong symptoms. You just don’t have sore boobs. It’s hard but try to think rationally you have symptoms

yawn25 · 03/11/2024 12:09

Yes @Adamsapple89 it's just there's a definite reduction in symptoms. I slept 30 hours last weekend despite doing only 2000 steps over both days (I do work full time in a very active job). This weekend I have slept 20 hours and did 15k steps yesterday so I'm certainly getting some energy back too.

My sickness and sore/tender boobs went at 8.5 weeks. I’m now 15 weeks and I have no idea how it’s going. So I guess that feeling just continues.

(oh to add I had DS before this pregnancy and I was sick until 14 weeks with him and then clueless from 14-20weeks on how it was going).

Thank you! Have you had a 12 week scan?

Yes I have, it went well. Also just heard the heartbeat at the 16 week appointment. I just mean I don’t feel pregnant now with the symptoms having disappeared so I still half wonder.

yawn25 · 07/11/2024 12:04

Ahh that’s good @Blue2020 ! Congratulations!!
Reallt praying my baby is doing okay
