Aargh. Have found loads of maternity shops online but none seem to go above size 20. Also loads of very short sleeved tops - great for sticks with bumps but not for us lumps with bumps.

Any fat people maternity shops out there?

Hi springer - love the name - favourite dogs SimplyBe online do a fab range... UllaPopken also go bigger (not sure about maternity though), and M&Co (Mackays) do nice gypsy/babydoll syle tops which fit under the bust but float over belly with lots of fabric - they go up to a size 26/28. Also Evans... Also check out www.plus-size-pregnancy.org/ as they also have lots of info... Hope this helps...

Evans have stopped doing maternity very recently. However, they have a lot of tops with the under the bust waistline that makes you look pregnant when you are not. So they work well. Trousers are harder as you really do need the proper maternity style.

I think Simply Be has a crap range of maternity stuff personally.

If you search on ebay for plus size maternity, there are quite a few sellers on there.

I placed a couple of large orders from the US from a company called Motherhood Maernity (just google it). They do a fab plus size range. The exchange rate is excellent at the moment so it comes out cheap and they will deliver here. However, be aware that you will get charged import duty and taxes once it arrives in the UK and these are hefty. However, because the clothes work out cheaper in the first place, it is still not bad at all.

Now, if anyone can tell me where to get maternity underwear in plus sizes, I would be very grateful! Even M+S have stopped doing it.

Mothercare does big sizes

IlanaK · 25/04/2008 19:38

No they don't. I think the biggest they go up to is a 22 and it is a small 22 at that.

bethoo · 25/04/2008 19:39

well they dont do small sizes

try www.plussizematernitywear.co.uk

I'd second the Evans suggestion. Just go up a size or two. Unfortunately I am still wearing the things I bought for pregnancy 18 months later

dorothy perkins, maybe?

tesco doesn't do mat clothes per se, but I got some non-mat dresses and tops with under the bust waistlines and wore them over trousers. Wrap dresses also work really well over trousers for bigger ladies like me.

just remembered: TK Maxx has loads of plus size stuff that can work.

do you know anyone in the US? get them to go to Target -- cheap and large size in abundance, and maternity too. or check the US ebay site, there will be loads more on there.
