Prolapse while pregnant?

I’m 20 weeks pregnant and have an 18 month old. When giving birth to my first I had a 3a degree tear, which healed nicely by all accounts and has never given me any trouble.

However, over the past week my vagina has felt ‘different’. Like there is a heavy weight in it and I can feel a bulge along one side.

I have been holding my son more this week than I previously have done during this pregnancy. I am also showing quite a lot for 20 weeks. I’m also finding it harder to do pelvic floor exercises than I was a week or so ago.

does this sound like a prolapse? I thought it only happened after childbirth but something doesn’t feel right, and I never had this in my first pregnancy.

i’m not at home now and can’t get to the doctor until next week.

Yes, it does. Prolapse can happen even for women that haven't had a baby, although being pregnant is a risk factor. Your GP is likely to be useless (sorry) so I've look at finding a physio specialising in women's health. The good news is that with the right exercises you can make a lot of progress in reducing the symptoms.
