Hand hold - sporadic bleeds 8 week pregnant.

not sure what I’m looking for really, I have been experiencing brown discharge in small amounts for around a week on and off. On Saturday afternoon I was on the toilet and had a bleed, I wiped up and nothing after - no pains, no warning - nothing. Then same Sunday evening. Nothing on Monday and same this evening. Again no pains, no cramps just a quick gush as such, wiped and nothing.

I called my gp today and asked to speak with a doctor or midwife told the receptionist what’s happened and she advised to call EPU - they haven’t answered my calls. And it’s just by chance I had the bleed this evening!

I am 8 weeks 2 days pregnant (I hope 😩), this is my first ever pregnancy and I didn’t believe I could ever get pregnant due to issues when younger with abnormal cells. I have been with my partner for 14 years and we have never been particularly careful. Sorry I’m rambling worrying although I couldn’t possibly change the outcome.

my booking in appointment is next Tuesday not sure if to just sit tight and wait for that x

Call the epu again in morning. It’s worth trying to reach them and ask them.

Hi @Blue2020 thank you so much for your reply, I have been trying again this morning the phone just rings and rings until it drops off, I will call the GP again if all else fails I will call 111 it’s so frustrating I do feel like my pregnancy symptoms which I have are still there and seem like they’re progressing but I know I can’t be sure the pregnancy is safe and well without seeing a heartbeat etc x

Just to update incase this helps anyone else out there, I never managed to get hold of the EPU, I had my booking appointment on 5/11 and told the midwife about the bleeding and not being able to get hold of EPU she continued to book me in and also got me an appointment on the 8/11 for an early scan, very nervous and was so convinced there would be nothing there due to the bright red blood and the amount although I didn’t collect any on a pad just using the toilet on those occasions. Anyhow, there the it was on the screen with a lovely strong heartbeat and yolk sac in the right position. Booked in for my 12 week scan on 27th, hopeful all is well in there still.

I think we all expect pregnancy to be beautiful and sparkly and it’s far from the reality which I am learning quickly!
