Excessive Baby Movement

Hi all, first post here!
I'm pregnant for the first time (22 weeks) and for the last 2 weeks I have felt baby move 😍

However... It seems to move A LOT. Mostly when I am resting but quite frequently throughout the day as well. There has been no change in movement, it's just very regular!

So my question is... Can there be too much movement? Too much activity? Is my baby in distress and that's why it's moving a lot?

Some babies are just... very active. It usually keeps up after the birth, too. Brace yourself.

The only time I've heard anything regarding concern for excessive movement is when it's a change from what is normal - not when this is your normal if that makes sense.

The general advice is any change to your babies pattern, whether it's a reduction or increase in movements, should be looked at.

DS1 wriggled a lot. That continued after birth, and he rolled early, crawled early.... you get the idea.
He's an awesome teenager right now and still doesn't stay still

This was the advice I got from the NHS too - any change from the norm

DD was constantly wriggling! I would worry if I hadn’t felt her in 20 minutes she was that active. But many of my friends only felt movement every few hours and that was normal for them.

Like others have said, learn what is normal for your baby! Everyone moves a different amount. DH can sit pretty much still on the sofa for hours whereas me and DD are always moving around 😂
