well... i assume i did as i just pretty much projectile vomited my breakfast and had taken my pregnacare tablets. I couldnt see them (sorry TMI) so should I take them again?

Well annoyed as im 11+5 and sickness has really subsided since start of week 10!

If you're nearly 12 weeks and have been taking them for a while you probably have built up decent levels of vitamins etc. by now so I wouldn't worry about it too much. The key ones - like folic acid - are only vital in the first 12 weeks anyway, and you're nearly there.

thank you :-)

Losing them for one day is not biggie, I wouldn't worry about it.

EffiePerine · 25/04/2008 11:42

I think the risk of taking TOO many vitamins outweighs the risk (?) or missing a day or so

(that reminds me, MUST take my folic acid this eve )

anchovies · 25/04/2008 11:44

My top tip is take them last thing before bed, much less likely to reappear that way!

Essie3 · 25/04/2008 12:27

On the topic, why are preg vitamin pills so massive? Sanatogen, Tesco's own etc - they're like horse pellets!

AHLH · 25/04/2008 12:27

I had hyperemis for from weeks 9 -15 and threw up everything. I was in hospital and they were giving my folic acid and vitamin b. They weren't that concerned that I must have kept down less than 10% of what I was meant too. 19+4 now, so no idea of any outcome of this yet though!

As other MNers have said I wouldn't worry too much. I had it all planned that I would be taking Pregnacare and Mumomega every day of my pregnancy.
Well, awful morning sickness up to 16 weeks soon put paid to that. I found the Pregnacare tablets, being large were guaranteed to make a return journey.
21 weeks now and much easier to take now..

TheSlightestTeuch · 27/04/2008 11:48

if you take straight folic acid, you can taken more if you throw up - it is water soluble so you just pee out the extra.

Not sure about the multivitamins, as not all are water soluble.

poppy34 · 27/04/2008 12:59

try taking them after food -I always threw them up if tried taking them before I ate anything. Also I switched to another brand as found that whatever was in pregnacare seemed to make me paticularly sick if I wasnt careful.

tryingtoleave · 27/04/2008 15:52

I don't understand why they don't make pregnancy vitamins in liquid form. I have lots of days when I can't even attempt to swallow those massive pills.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 27/04/2008 16:36

i forgot several days of folic acid in my first trimester. I couldn't take pregnacare as it made me sick, the tablets were too big and smelled funny!

Fullmoonfiend · 27/04/2008 16:40

I bought a truckload of multivitamins for preggy ladies from Asda when I was last pg and they made me sick as a dog....it was 2 weeks before I worked out what was making me so sick, lol.
