(as i need a full bladder to have a rescan to check my placenta as its blocking my birth canal).

I take a bottle and drink it in the waiting room - they are invariably 20 mins late and that's how long it takes for me.

Yep, I say don't drink a thing until you get there. My scan was very late and I sat there squirming before finally giving in and going to the loo 5 minutes before they called me in. I had drunk so much though that they still had a perfect view!

Thing of dry things - like the desert - thinking of water always makes me want to pee so perhaps it works the other way round too!

You amazingly don't need to be full enough that you're in pain - just enough that you could do with a wee will be plenty. Get there half an hour before and drink the equivalent of a can of coke (fruit juice or juice and water will go through quicker than just plain water) and you will be fine. The number of times I've been full to the brim and they send me out to empty my bladder by at least 50%.

when i went for my first scan the waiting area was right next to a large tiled toilet-there were 3 of us sat there all dying for a wee when one girls DH got up and went into the loo. We all sat there and listened as he weed. And weed. And weed. He may as well have had a microphone in there, it was that loud. He got such filthy looks when he finally emerged, and his partner gave him a right mouthful! Sorry, doesn't help you, just reminded me. I think go with the tips above!!(and stay away from sitting next to the loo...)

ROFL beakas!

I was told (for 20 weeks) because I'm quite small and not very fat (that's changed now at 33 weeks...) I just need to drink normally on the morning, and not go to the loo an hour beforehand.

First scan, I drank the pint as told, and was in pain so they sent me to do half. Yeah right - half? Once that floodgate opened, I had visions of overfilling a toilet!!
