hiya , ftm here 34 weeks pregnant, I’ve been experiencing extreme back pain for the last three days now. Today I think I lost some of my mucus plug, not 100% sure! Also I’ve not had any discharge since this morning after loosing it, which is concerning? My back pains have also increased to the point where it hurts to walk, I’ve been having a few painful cramps but could be braxton hicks? Anyone experienced something similar, or have any advice on what this could be? TIA x

I'd contact triage at your hospital and they should be able to advise you!

I wouldn’t know what’s happening, but you should definitely call your maternity assessment unit and go and get checked out. Hope it’s all ok!

I agree with the other posters. I recall cramp like pain was one of the triggers to call in

Absolutely call the maternity unit. If you are in pre term labour they will be able to give timely steroids if necessary. If not then nothing lost. Good luck.

Definitely get checked x

My mucus plug went yesterday (36+4) and then no discharge for a long time. I'm also having BH. Cervical length 1.8cm, the same as it has been for weeks

Hope you went to your maternity unit! I've been admitted for monitoring, but everyone is happy that I'm not in active labour. (and yes, I was given steroids)

Labour could still be a while away (apparently the mucus plug can regrow?), but this is definitely a time to err on the side of caution.

Yes contact your labour ward . You need to be checked.

Follow up- called triage and they didn’t seem concerned at all, said my pain was round-ligament pain, however I’m not in so much pain that I can’t put pressure on my left leg, surely this isn’t right ?
