have you tried acupuncture? Didn't work for me but I know a couple of people it did work for.

It's not needles btw - smelly candles.

Have they offered to try to turn him (ECV)?

How pregnant are you exactly? My DD turned at 38 weeks (to breech) and then back two days later. Don't despair just yet.

But yes moxibustion (burning smelly sticks instead of sticking needles in you) can help, reflexology, optimal fetal positioning etc.

ECV can be bloody painful and not always successful either.

Finally don't forget breech babies don't have to be delivered by cs - plenty manage the traditional route fine with competent midwives on hand

Hello JK. Similar prob for me as baby transverse (still!) at 34wks. Advice from MW today - sit up straight, don't slouch. Change position regularly if having a lie down and if poss, spend 15mins on hands & Knees a couple of times a day. Not sure quite what this does but I've read similar advice so am giving it a go. Have a look at spinningbabies.com for more info. Good Luck.

my girl, get on hands and knees, bum in the air at every opportunity! I'v heard that acupuncture is quite effective. Try to avoid sitting in same position for long periods.

1'd second hands and knees - I used to watch TV kneeling on a cushion and resting elbows on a foot stool, stretching my body out as much as I needed to be comfortable.

I'm almost 36 weeks and my back-to-back baby has scooted round a bit so now he's back-to-the-right-hand-side. I'm hoping he doesn't scoot back again!

swimming is meant to be good, cos deep water supports uterus and makes optimum space! My friend's baby was breech til 39 weeks then turned, try not to worry!

Duchess I'm 40 + 2 and baby keeps hovering between right and back to back! I have calluses on my knees!! ha ha

Go swimming and as you enter in the water link your hands together under your bump and gently lift your tummy. Do it a few times, its supposed to be quite good! ECV is good but depends on who's doing it. You should be offered it if your babe is still breech at 37wks. It can be uncomfortable but shouldn't be painful at all. Rates of success vary from 30%-80% depending on the hospital so ask what your hosps rates are. Moxibustion and acupunture are also worth a try. Moxibustion in particular has been shown in research to be effective, although not massively.

Also, don't panic! Read up on breech birth just in case!
