I am 38 weeks today and don't appear to have had any of these Braxton Hicks thingys!?! Am I just abnormal or just ignoring them?!
Alhthough I often feel like my tummy is being stretched from the inside out, like some little blighter is trying to put their foot through my skin. Could that be a BH or is that just bubs shuffling around?!
Often think BH contractions are a bit of an old wife's tale, in the same league as what my 16 year old sister-in-law describes as "growing pains"!! WTF! "No Love, it's just your leg/back/arm aching through over-use/injury/whatever!! Just like what happens to everyone!" Kids nowadays, eh?!

braxton hicks do exist. Just because you haven't experienced any doesn't mean they are an old wive's tail!

They are not always painful, sometimes just feel like atightening around your bump. Not all women have them.

tale not tail!

I had BH but they weren't painful, just my whole bump going hard and tight. Happened more after orgasm

I had Braxton Hicks but they weren't painful. It just felt as though the lower 2/3 or so of my bump had gone totally solid. Some people say that they hurt. I guess they're just 'practice' contractions so probably different for everyone.

You often don't notice them in your first pg; I am on number 3 (30 weeks) and have them all the time.

Mine didn't hurt - I thought it was just the baby pushing his back against my belly until it happened when I was with a midwife and she told me what it was.

I barely felt mine. Just happened to notice a slight tightening. But then I was also having contractions I couldn't feel before my waters broke!

Mine make my whole belly go tight but don't hurt.
